Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched 'Delhi Lakshmi Yojana' on Wednesday. He distributed acceptance letters to thousands of women. Addressing the program, CM Rekha said, “I want that all my sisters should remain happy, this smile should remain on their faces. My sisters should always move forward in life because I am there.”
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta further said, “Delhi Lakshmi Yojana has reached every home of all my sisters across Delhi today, for this I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all of you wholeheartedly and wish you all the best for your bright future.”
The Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi always emphasizes that if we want to take the country forward, we have to empower our women and sisters. Unless the woman of the house progresses, becomes happy and her challenges are not solved, the country's problems cannot be solved.”
Talking to reporters, CM Rekha said, “On the very first day, it was said from our side that it is our resolve to give Rs 2,500 to the sisters of Delhi, so today on this day of actually taking 'Delhi Lakshmi Yojana' to the public, I am very happy to see the sisters of Delhi happy.
CM further said, “On August 1, we started this scheme and within just one month, around 9.5 lakh sisters registered under it and today through this program, we have sent approval letters to the first two and a half thousand beneficiaries of the scheme of 2,500 and on September 1, the money for the month of August will reach their accounts. It is not that the registration of this scheme will stop on any fixed date. This is a continuously running scheme.”
Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra told IANS, this is a historic day. The Prime Minister's promise and the Chief Minister's resolve for our sisters are being fulfilled on the auspicious occasion of Rakhi. The people of Delhi and women across the country have seen that when a government works with true sincerity, promises are fulfilled within a year.”
Kapil Mishra further said, “On the contrary, Arvind Kejriwal ruled Delhi for 10 years, where forms were filled repeatedly in slums and false promises were made, after which AAP workers even sold the personal data of women. Not even a single rupee reached the account of any woman in Delhi for 10 years. If he had been honest, this promise could have been fulfilled in Punjab too.”
