Earlier the struggle for medals, now players are performing better in every competition!

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government led by Prime Minister Modi has started many initiatives to promote sports since 2014. He said that 'Khelo India' did not start recently but Prime Minister Modi had launched it long ago and this program has successfully reached the youth.

While interacting with the media in New Delhi, the Union Minister said that the impact of initiatives to promote sports is visible on India's performance in international competitions.

Earlier, India had to struggle a lot to win even one or two medals, but now Indian players are winning many medals in various international competitions including Commonwealth Games, Olympics and Asian Games. This is a matter of pride for the country.

Regarding the 'Khelo India Samvad' program at Hindu College, he said that he felt very happy to reach among the students and volunteers in the college and the way the college organized the program is commendable.

He said that the Prime Minister has given a message to the players and youth to move forward to fulfill their dreams and achieve their aspirations. He said that the government is giving full support to the youth to advance in the field of sports. He also mentioned the efforts related to talent search campaign, frequent sports competitions and sports policy keeping in mind the 2036 Olympics.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Shivraj Chauhan said that Prime Minister Modi has given a message to the youth that whoever plays will blossom. He said that talent hunts will be organized to identify sports talent among children aged 5 to 15 years.

Efforts will be made to identify talented children and provide them with necessary facilities. Sports not only keeps a person healthy but also gives him an opportunity to hone his talent. He also talked about giving the message to the youth to stay away from drugs.

At the same time, regarding the flood situation in Nepal, Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Modi has also sent a condolence message. He expressed condolences to the flood affected people of Nepal and said that India stands with the affected people whenever a tragedy occurs in any neighboring country or any part of the world. India is concerned about the damage caused in Nepal and everyone's thoughts are with the affected people in this difficult time.

On alert and preparedness to deal with natural disasters in the border areas of India, the Union Minister said that arrangements of administration and NDRF are in place. He said that India prepares well in advance to deal with natural disasters. Everyone is worried about the incident in Nepal because natural disasters cause loss of life and property and this hurts everyone.
