New Delhi: Before the Australia Under-19 team's tour of India, BCCI has announced Team India U19. For this tour, different teams have been selected for three ODI and two multi-day matches. The most talked about is the selection of Virender Sehwag's son Aryaveer Sehwag and Rahul Dravid's son Anvay Dravid, both of whom have got a place in the ODI team.
BCCI Honorary Secretary Devjit Saikia has confirmed the team selection. Lakshya Raichandani will command the team in the ODI series, while Yashvardhan Chauhan will be the vice-captain. For the two multi-day matches, Yashvardhan has been made the captain and Lakshya has been made the vice-captain.
ODI Team: Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Yashvardhan Chauhan (vice-captain), Rajat Baghel (wicketkeeper), Aryaveer Sehwag, VK Vineet, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), V. Yashveer, Rohit Yadav, Shavin Vinod, Mohit Ulva, Chigurupathi Venkata and Kavya Patel.
Multi-Day Team: Yashvardhan Chauhan (captain), Lakshya Raichandani (vice-captain), Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Manav Krishna (wicketkeeper), Abhipray Biswas (wicketkeeper), Rohit Yadav, Ishaan Om, Ayan Akram, Pranav Raghavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva and Aryan Yadav.
Sehwag's son's entry for the first time
Aryaveer Sehwag has been selected in the India U19 team for the first time. The right-handed batsman has caught the attention of the selectors with his performance in domestic cricket. In the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy, he played a big inning of 297 runs against Meghalaya. After this, Aryaveer batted aggressively while playing for West Delhi Lions in Delhi Premier League 2026. Now he will get a chance to showcase his talent in the three-match ODI series against Australia to be held in Rajkot.
Dravid's son also got a chance
Rahul Dravid's son Anvay Dravid has also been selected as wicketkeeper in the ODI team. He played a brilliant inning of 87 runs during India U19's tour of Sri Lanka in July. After this performance, the selectors have kept him in the team for the Australia series also. However, Aryaveer and Anvay have not got a place in the multi-day team. Both players will be seen playing only in ODI matches against Australia U19.
Competitions will be held in Rajkot and Ahmedabad
All three ODI matches will be played in Rajkot on 18, 21 and 23 September. The first multi-day match will be played in Rajkot from 27 to 30 September, while the second match will be played at B Ground in Ahmedabad from 5 to 8 October.
