Missed important messages and bank alerts by mistake? Learn the easy way to get back

Have you sometimes deleted an important bank alert, WhatsApp message or online order update while hastily clearing the phone’s notification panel? If yes, then there is no need to worry at all. Android smartphones come with a very useful feature, with the help of which you can view deleted notifications for up to 24 hours.

This “Notification History” feature of Android works as a backup. When you swipe away a notification, the system saves it in its records for the next 24 hours. However, the biggest drawback of this feature is that it saves new notifications only after switching on, old or previously deleted alerts do not appear in it. Hence, it is better to turn on this setting now to never lose important information in the future.

Activating this feature in your Android phone is very easy. For this, first go to your phone’s Settings and click on the Notifications option. Here you will get the option of Notification History, by tapping on which you just have to turn on its Toggle Button. Doing this will activate the feature and now you will see missed notifications from any app like WhatsApp, Instagram or Gmail along with the app name.

However, as beneficial as this feature is, it can also be a privacy threat, as it also saves a preview of the message. If your phone is unlocked, someone else can read your personal chat or bank alerts. So, always be sure to use a strong PIN, password or fingerprint lock to maintain your digital privacy and security.
