IND vs SL: The Colombo Test match may have ended in a draw, but Team India fans are upset. The Indian cricket team is facing significant criticism following this match. In such a scenario, a player’s career could be over. Currently, the top name in this race is spin all-rounder Saransh Jain, who made his debut in the Colombo Test. His debut match could also prove to be his last in international cricket. His career is currently in grave danger.
Saransh Jain’s career may end after the Colombo Test
Star domestic all-rounder Saransh Jain has been given the opportunity to debut for Team India at the age of 33. Captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir had high hopes for Saransh in the Colombo Test against Sri Lanka, but he disappointed greatly. He scored just 6 runs with the bat. Then, in the first innings, he took 2 wickets for 69 runs in 20.4 overs.
He then bowled 37 overs in the second innings, taking 1 wicket for 98 runs. This translates to an average of 55.67 and a strike rate of 115.33. Consequently, Team India may not want to risk him in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He is expected to be ruled out of the series against New Zealand. Consequently, Saransh’s debut could prove to be his last international match.
This graphic should haunt @GautamGambhir @imAagarkar. If our part time spinner got this much turn on Day 5 pitch why our main spinners failed to take wickets against inexperienced batters. On what merit Saransh Jain picked ahead of Kuldeep ? #SLvIND #WTC https://t.co/H0kZMmfTwp

Washington Sundar may return
Speaking of domestic cricket, Saransh Jain has played 55 first-class matches, scoring 2229 runs at an average of 31.39, including two centuries and 14 half-centuries. With the ball, Saransh has taken 191 wickets at an average of 27.75. Jain has also taken 10 five-wicket hauls. He doesn’t have a good record in T20 and List A cricket.
In such a situation, the team management may once again pursue Washington Sundar during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Sundar was also not part of Team India’s series against Sri Lanka due to injury. Therefore, it is unlikely that Saransh will be included in the team upon his return. Captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir both appreciate Washington Sundar’s ability as a player.
