Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters has issued instructions to the heads of all its police units that on the demand of the court, case records and diaries should be made available in the court physically only through electronic download. It has been said in the instructions that all the investigation work should be converted into digital form and maintained on CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) and e-Saakshya portal.
There is a system of sending the final report in electronic form to the prosecutor through e-Prosecution and to the courts through ‘Court Information System’ through ICJS (Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System). But the Advocate General’s Office and the High Court also sometimes want case records and diaries in physical form.
If the Constitutional Court or the Advocate General’s Office demands a physical copy or soft copy of the case form, investigation record and case diary, then all the police units of the state should direct the investigators and other police officers posted under them to take action on three points: One, the station in-charge / investigating officer will take out the printout of the related records from the CCTNS portal and provide them. Two, optionally the archive can be made available on the hard disk as a password protected PDF. Three, the printout/soft copy should be marked as a certified copy from the CCTNS portal and signed and sealed by the investigating officer.
