Mahindra Delivers 54 XEV 9e Electric SUVs To Royal Government Of Bhutan

Mahindra’s electric SUVs have become very popular in India. However, they are now becoming popular in other countries as well. Recently, Mahindra Bhutan has managed to deliver 54 units of its XEV 9e electric SUV to the Royal Government of Bhutan. The vehicles were handed over on August 27, 2026. These have been added to the fleet as part of the Bhutanese government’s initiative to transition its official transportation fleet towards electric vehicles.

The images of the delivery event of the 54 Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUVs have been shared on Instagram by Mahindra Bhutan on their page. These vehicles were handed over by Singye Agencies to the Department of Procurement and Properties under Bhutan’s Ministry of Finance. As per the company post, the Royal Government of Bhutan has taken delivery of the Pack Two variant with the 59 kWh battery pack.

The XEV 9e coupe electric SUV is built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO electric vehicle architecture. This platform has been developed specifically for electric vehicles rather than being adapted from an internal combustion engine platform. The 59 kWh battery pack uses LFP chemistry BYD Blade Cell technology. As for the motor, the XEV 9e Pack Two uses a single permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the rear axle.

This means that all the power made by this motor is sent directly to the rear wheels, making it a rear-wheel-drive SUV. The motor produces 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. As per the company, this SUV can complete a sprint of 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 8.3 seconds. The SUV also offers multiple driving modes, including Range, Everyday and Race modes.

The XEV 9e supports 140 kW DC fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 20 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes. It can also be charged using AC chargers. It also gets an optional 11.2 kW charger, which takes around six hours for a full charge. Meanwhile, the 7.2 kW unit takes approximately 8.7 hours. At the front, it gets large vertical LED daytime running lights that frame the Bi-LED projector headlamps. The bonnet features strong character lines and Mahindra’s illuminated electric-specific Infinity logo.

The side profile also boasts heavily flared wheel arches finished in gloss-black cladding. It also gets 19-inch alloy wheels and flush-fitting door handles as well. At the rear, the XEV 9e gets a connected LED light bar stretching across the tailgate. It also features a heavily raked rear windscreen and roof-integrated twin-pod spoiler, further highlighting its SUV-coupe design.
