Neeraj Chopra: India has suffered a major setback before the Asian Games 2026. Star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has been ruled out of the tournament due to ankle ligament tear during training. Javelin star Chopra shared a post on social media and informed about his injury and being out of the rest of the season. He suffered a ligament tear in his ankle during training. Neeraj is no longer a part of the Asian Games. Apart from the Asian Games, Neeraj has also been out of three major competitions. Recently he had achieved a season's best performance of 88.05m in the Lausanne Diamond League.

However, he showed strength and also said that difficulties and setbacks are part of this journey. At present his entire focus is on his recovery.
