Hyderabad, 29 August 2026: Mr. Lutchmanah Pentiah, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Republic of Mauritius, visited the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Bella Vista Campus, Hyderabad, today to explore avenues for collaboration between ASCI and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation (AIPSI), Mauritius. The Minister was accompanied by Mr. Devendre Gopaul, Secretary for Public Service, and Dr. Ramesh Durbarry, Registrar, AIPSI.
Mr. Pentiah sought ASCI’s support in three key areas — training, capacity building, and research — and noted that AIPSI is in the process of developing a Policy Research Lab. The two institutions are expected to formalise their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding in the coming months.
“We see significant scope for collaboration with ASCI in strengthening public-sector capacity, training and policy research,” said Mr. Pentiah.
Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Director General, ASCI, welcomed the visiting delegation. Shri K. Padmanabhaiah, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, ASCI, gave an overview of the institution, its founding, and its work across executive training, research and consultancy, and policy advisory support to the Government of India and state governments.
The Chairman and Director General jointly outlined the structure and scope of ASCI’s Executive Education, Research and Consultancy verticals, and spoke about the institution’s approach to maintaining quality and independence while working with government clients. They also shared insights from ASCI’s recent NITI Aayog study on MSME schemes, and spoke about the institution’s long-standing international partnerships with organisations such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
“ASCI is keen to support Mauritius in strengthening public-sector capabilities through executive education, research and institutional capacity building,” said Shri K. Padmanabhaiah, Chairman, ASCI.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, IAS (Retd.), Dean of Research; Dr. A.S. Nirmalya Bagchi, Dean, ASCI School of Management; Dr. A.S. Valli Manickam, Dean of Training Programmes, Dr. OP Singh, Registrar, ASCI and other senior officials of ASCI.
The programme concluded with the exchange of mementos between the visiting dignitaries and the ASCI leadership.
