FIR against Mamata Banerjee, allegation of violation of Calcutta High Court order

New Delhi:Kolkata Police has registered an FIR against former West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee. Let us tell you, the matter is related to the foundation day program of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) held on August 28. Police allege that during this period the orders of Calcutta High Court were violated. Now a case has been registered in Hastings police station and the role of the organizers of the program is also being investigated.

According to the police officer, during the investigation it will be seen how the court order was allegedly violated and who were involved in it. The police are currently collecting facts related to the case.

There was controversy earlier also regarding hoardings

Before this case registered against Mamata Banerjee, Kolkata Police had also filed an FIR against TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Derek O'Brien and some other leaders. According to the information revealed, this matter is related to the dispute regarding removal of a hoarding on Camac Street. According to the police, the team of Kolkata Municipal Corporation had arrived on Thursday to remove an unauthorized hoarding installed on Camac Street. The Municipal Corporation had sought protection from the police for this. It was told that TMC logo was on the hoarding.

It is alleged that after the corporation and police team reached there, TMC leaders and workers started protesting. During this time, there was allegedly a scuffle and clash with the police and corporation officials. Police say that this caused difficulty for the officers in taking their action. This is the reason why the police have now registered a case in this matter under several sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

TMC raised questions on the action

However, after the case was registered, TMC has criticized the action of the police and the Municipal Corporation in both the cases. The party has called it an act of political vendetta. The party says that the government is targeting TMC leaders and workers. Abhishek Banerjee has raised questions on the police action by posting on social media.

He alleged that the constitutional system in the state is weakening and the role of police is continuously increasing. He said that the role of judiciary is very important to protect the fundamental rights of citizens. At present the police is investigating both the cases. Only after the investigation is completed will it become clear who played what role in the alleged violation and dispute.
