New Delhi. Zeenat Aman, who created a distinct identity in Hindi cinema with her beautiful acting and outspoken style in the 70s and 80s, is once again in the news for her personal life. In a recent conversation, the actress spoke openly about her marriage, relationships and decisions taken in life. Recalling her marriage with Mazhar Khan, Zeenat Aman said that at that time she had a clear desire to start a family and was completely ready to become a mother. But after marriage, the circumstances did not go as per their expectations and they had to go through many difficult phases of their relationship.
Zeenat Aman said that when she was young, she took life decisions based on her thoughts, desires and understanding of that time. Some of these decisions gave him happiness while some did not benefit him. However, as he grew older, he learned to look at his past from a different perspective. According to him, time gives man the freedom to look back and understand his decisions without blaming himself and without getting defensive.
Talking about her marriage with Mazhar Khan, Zeenat said that she had chosen this relationship with the hope of starting a family. The two married in 1985 and have two sons, Azaan and Jahaan. According to Zeenat, at that time she believed that marriage was a means of creating a family and she had taken her decision with this thinking in mind. But with time they realized that there is a big difference between love in a relationship and complete oblivion.
The actress told that she remained in this relationship for many reasons. The promise of responsibility for children and the hope that circumstances would change one day kept them motivated to maintain the relationship for a long time. She supported her husband in many of his battles but ultimately came to understand that a person cannot save another human being unless he is ready to help himself.
Zeenat also denied making any negative comments about Mazhar Khan. She said that he is the father of her children and that is why she does not want to say bad things about him. Their marriage lasted for about 12 years and this relationship taught Zeenat many important life lessons.
Zeenat Aman also expressed her frank opinion on the question of infidelity in Bollywood. He said that it is not right to associate infidelity only with the film industry because it is a human weakness. However, he admitted that personal relationships in Bollywood often become a subject of people's entertainment and gossip. He says that making someone's broken heart and personal pain a part of discussion or entertainment is not good for anyone.
Zeenat Aman's film career has also been equally brilliant. Films like Hare Rama Hare Krishna Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Don made her one of the most popular actresses of Hindi cinema.
