There has been a huge loss of life and property due to the sudden natural disaster and devastating floods in Nepal. The total death toll in the floods on Monday increased to 903. As relief and rescue operations progress in the disaster-hit areas, more bodies are being recovered from the debris. On the other hand, about 4,250 people are still reported missing, the search for whom is continuing. Many bodies have so far been recovered from all the eight affected districts that were hit by the disaster. According to initial assessments, this horrific disaster was caused by a sudden fall of heavy snow and rocks or avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border. This fierce snow storm and deluge completely destroyed and destroyed many lush green towns and villages of northern and central Nepal on August 26.
NDRRMA released shocking figures
Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) gave official confirmation saying that the number of people who lost their lives in this sudden catastrophic flood has now increased to 903.
According to the latest data released by the authority, so far 272 bodies have been recovered from the worst-affected Chitwan district. Apart from this, bodies of 207 people have been removed from Nawalparasi East, 151 from Nawalparasi West and 62 from Gorkha district. In this sequence, 95 bodies have been recovered from Nuwakot, 55 from Dhading, 37 from Tanahun and 24 from Rasuwa district.
Security personnel and foreign nationals also included among the missing
The NDRRMA report also revealed that 4,247 people are still missing across the country, for whom no trace has been found. It is a matter of concern that among the thousands of people who are missing, 85 security personnel and 320 foreign nationals are also included.
