Big decision of Delhi government, 1,300 e-auto permits will soon be given to women and transgenders; Know eligibility

Delhi government is preparing to launch Durga (Driving Upliftment and Rozgar for Women/Transgender Green e-Auto) scheme. This scheme is being prepared for women and transgenders. Through this there will be a sure arrangement for employment and income. Through this, 100 e-auto permits will be given in each of the 13 districts of Delhi. According to the government website, permits for 1,300 electric autos will be given through this scheme.

Under the scheme, 90 percent permits will be given to women and 10 percent to transgenders. The objective of this project is to promote self-employment, improve livelihoods and promote electric mobility. 100 e-auto permits have been earmarked for every district. Selected applicants will be issued a 'Letter of Intent' to drive electric autos.

Draft will be presented before the cabinet

According to information received by ET Auto from government sources, the draft of this scheme can be presented before the Delhi government cabinet for approval. The Cabinet will consider it and this scheme will be announced after getting approval from the Cabinet. Applications can be invited through an online portal and the final list will be generated through a lottery system.

Eligibility to apply for the scheme

Women and transgenders in the age group of 20 to 40 can apply for the scheme. The annual income of the applicants should be less than Rs 5 lakh or they should not own a three-wheeler. One woman from each family will be eligible. Along with this, the condition for married women is that their children should be below 18 years of age.

Will also be connected to online platform

To ensure regular income of the beneficiaries, the government is also preparing to connect them with online cab and auto aggregator platforms. This means that people will also be able to book these through online cab platforms so that the beneficiaries can earn maximum income. One advantage of this will be that the beneficiaries will not have to wander or wait in search of passengers. Apart from this, DURGA drivers will get special jackets, caps and identity cards which will make it easier for passengers to identify registered drivers.

Emergency contacts will also be written

Many helplines and emergency contacts for women will also be written in these e-autos. This sector is dominated by men. The government is trying to bring a new change by encouraging women and transgenders through this scheme.
