Honda company is now taking fast steps to strengthen its position in electric two-wheeler market in India. The company recently introduced the 'QC3' electric scooter in India, which is claimed to have a range of 145 km. Meanwhile, Honda has filed a design patent in India for its new electric scooter 'Honda UC3', which was recently launched in Thailand and Vietnam. Honda is the only major automobile brand that does not have much of a foothold in the Indian electric scooter market, as its earlier models 'Activa E' and 'QC1' had to be discontinued due to insufficient sales. However, now the company is preparing to make a strong comeback in the market due to 'UC3'.

Coming to the technical aspects of this new e-scooter, the Honda UC3 is equipped with a 3.2 kWh fixed LFP battery pack. This scooter is capable of giving a maximum range of 122 kilometers in a single charge. The electric motor in this scooter generates a maximum power of 8 bhp, which is about as good as a 160 cc petrol scooter. Also, this scooter can run at a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour. It has 12-inch front and rear wheels.

Design and unique look
The design of Honda UC3 is a wonderful blend of maxi-scooter and neo-retro scooter. The front of this scooter has a maxi-scooter-like look, while the rear, side panels and seat shape resemble a neo-retro model. It features an attractive three-piece LED DRL unit, which also serves as an indicator. Just below the DRL is the LED headlight, while the windscreen and charging socket are placed above. The scooter is available in Purple Sapphire White and Graphite Black colors in Thailand and is priced around Rs 4.10 lakh.

Many modern features are included in this e-scooter for the convenience of the riders. It gets Eco, Standard and Sport multi-ride modes, traction control, reverse assist, Type-C USB charging port, smart key with keyless start, regenerative tech and a 5-inch TFT instrument console with Honda RoadSync. Also, it comes with all-LED lighting as standard for safety and has a large underseat storage capacity of 26 liters for luggage.

In India, Indian companies like Bajaj, TVS and Hero are leading the electric two-wheeler segment. Due to this fierce competition, Honda is now seriously planning its EV strategy, and there is a strong possibility of launching many new electric models one after the other for the Indian consumers in the coming years.
