According to officials, the deaths of 908 people have been confirmed, while more than 3000 people are still reported missing.
The situation after the disaster is so serious that the administration is facing difficulty even in keeping the recovered bodies safe. Nearly 200 unidentified bodies had to be buried due to non-availability of sufficient freezers to store the bodies.
Indian teams also engaged in relief and rescue operations.

India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Sunday that 149 Indian citizens have been evacuated safely after the devastating floods in Nepal.
The Ministry of External Affairs shared the list of all 149 rescued Indian citizens on social media platform X around 5:30 pm on Sunday evening. However, despite this, information about missing 275 Indian citizens has come to light. Continuous efforts are also being made to search for the missing Indians.
The increasing number of dead bodies becomes a big challenge
After continuous recovery of dead bodies from disaster affected areas, a new challenge has arisen before the administration. There are no adequate arrangements to keep a large number of dead bodies safe. Due to lack of freezer, about 200 unidentified bodies had to be buried.
At the same time, work of removing debris and searching for missing people is still going on in many areas. Rescue teams are facing difficulties at many places due to inaccessible hilly terrain and flood-damaged roads.
Relief stories emerged amid devastation

In one such incident, students of a school were saved from a major accident. It was reported that the students had gone out of class only to eat lunch.
