The UP Governing Council has taken a very important and big decision regarding the knockout round of the UP T-20 League. Due to continuous torrential rains and uncontrolled bounce on the pitch at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, the play-off and final matches have been shifted to Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Now the title match of the league will be played in Lucknow on 6th September.
Let us tell you, only the last two matches of the league stage will be held in Kanpur, after which all the teams will move to Lucknow for the play-off stage. According to the new schedule, Qualifier-1 and Eliminator matches will be played at Ekana Stadium on September 3. After this, the second qualifier match will be held on 4th September, while the grand finale of the season will be played on 6th September.
At the same time, the Governing Council has taken this decision giving priority to the safety of the players and fair conduct of the match. Many matches were disrupted in Kanpur for the last few days due to bad weather and wet outfield. Ekana Stadium in Lucknow has a world-class drainage system and modern facilities, due to which the spectators will be able to watch the exciting play-off matches without any hindrance.
