Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 500 in the Indian market, priced at Rs 5.76 lakh ex-showroom. The bike is available in a single fully loaded 'Standard' variant. Barring the new 'Lime Green' color option, the design, features and engine specifications of this supersports bike have been retained as the previous model. There has been no increase in the price of the new model as the previous MY26 model was priced the same. The bike is being marketed in India through the CBU route and competes directly with the Aprilia RS 457 in the market.

The new Ninja 500 continues to use the E20 fuel compatible engine, putting an end to all the rumors of the bike being discontinued from the Indian market. Based on the same trellis frame as the flagship Ninja H2, the sportsbike weighs only 157 kg. The 2027 Ninja 500 features a shorter wheelbase, longer swingarm and optimized trail settings.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 500 is powered by a 451 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine that generates 51 bhp of power at 10,000 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and assist and slip clutch. The bike runs on a chain final drive setup and delivers a mileage of 25 to 26 kmpl.

Disadvantages and lack of features

Although the price is quite high, the 2027 Ninja 500 does not offer many important features that are commonly found in other rival motorcycles in this segment. It lacks modern features like cruise control, bidirectional quick-shifter, tire pressure monitoring, five ride modes, wheelie control and slide control. It only gets an LCD console with smartphone connectivity and all-LED lighting, which is the plus side.
