Raja Man Singh had constructed it
The present form of Amer Fort is mainly associated with the reign of Raja Man Singh I. Later rulers also made many constructions and expansions in the fort. Made of red sandstone and marble, this fort is known for its beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. The high walls and strong gates of the fort give a glimpse of the military architecture of that period. The surrounding natural view from this fort built on the hill also looks very spectacular.
Sheesh Mahal is a special attraction
Among the major attractions of Amer Fort, the name of Sheesh Mahal comes at the top. Innumerable small mirrors installed on the walls and ceiling of the palace further enhance its beauty. It is said that when light fell on these mirrors, the entire room would glow. Apart from this, many historical places in the fort like Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-Khas, Ganesh Pol and Sukh Niwas attract the attention of tourists.

Amer Fort is included in the important historical heritage not only of Rajasthan but also of India. It has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List under 'Hill Forts of Rajasthan'. A visit to Amer Fort is considered to be one of the most prominent attractions for tourists visiting Jaipur.
