Kolkata: Bristi Mukherjee, daughter of a relative of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, died on Tuesday. Let us tell you, his body was found in his house located in Kusumba village of Rampurhat police station area of ​​Birbhum district. According to initial information, the family informed the police about the incident at around 9 am in the morning. As soon as the information was received, Rampurhat police reached the spot and the body was sent to Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

After receiving the news of the incident, the police has started investigating the matter. At present, no official conclusion has been revealed regarding the cause of death. Along with interrogating the family members, the police are also investigating other aspects related to the incident.

Name was linked to teacher recruitment case

The name of 28-year-old Bristi Mukherjee had come up in the famous teacher recruitment case of West Bengal. According to the information, he got the job of non-teaching staff in an upper primary school in Bolpur in March 2023. Later, the appointments of thousands of teaching and non-teaching staff in the state were investigated and many appointments were cancelled.

It was alleged that some people had obtained government jobs through alleged irregularities and money transactions. After the decision of the Calcutta High Court in this case, many appointments were canceled and later the Supreme Court also upheld this decision.

Talk of stress after losing job

According to reports, Bristi was under stress after the court's decision. His name was mentioned at number 608 in the list of candidates who lost their jobs. However, a different claim has been made by the family. The family says that Bristi had left the post soon after joining the job due to health reasons. Bristi's father Nihar Mukherjee is said to be a local leader associated with Trinamool Congress and is related to Mamata Banerjee's family.

Teacher recruitment scam has been a big political issue

West Bengal's teacher recruitment issue has been a big issue in the state's politics for a long time. During the investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities in the recruitment process held in 2016, several people, including the then Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, were arrested.
