Mathura: This time on the 5253rd birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, a huge confluence of faith will be seen in the city of Kanha. On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 4th September, more than 75 lakh devotees from across the country and the world are likely to reach Mathura-Vrindavan. Braj city is ready to welcome the devotees. Arrangements from temples to major roads and intersections have been finalized. In view of the crowd of lakhs of devotees, the administration has made extensive preparations regarding security, traffic, darshan, drinking water, cleanliness and health facilities.
This time in this grand event of Janmashtami, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also celebrate the birth anniversary of Kanha in Braj. The Chief Minister will reach Mathura on September 3 on a two-day visit. During his visit, he will hold a review meeting of Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad and will give a big gift to the people of Braj by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of development projects worth crores of rupees. Along with offering darshan and worship at the Thakur Banke Bihari temple, Chief Minister Thakur Banke will reach Shri Krishna's birthplace on September 4 and perform cow worship and darshan.
More than 25 artists will spread the colors of devotion and culture
To give a grand look to Shri Krishna's birth anniversary, huge cultural programs are being organized in Braj region from 2nd to 5th September. More than 25 renowned artists of the country will spread the colors of devotion, music and culture on the land of Braj through their performances. Along with religious events, cultural programs will be the main center of attraction for the devotees.
Special arrangements on Mangala Aarti in Banke Bihari Temple
In view of the huge crowd of devotees in the world famous Thakur Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan on Janmashtami, special arrangements have been made for Mangala Aarti. As per the instructions of the high-powered committee constituted by the Supreme Court, only 600 pass holders will be allowed entry into the temple premises during Mangala Aarti.
To reduce crowd pressure in the temple premises, arrangements have been made for live streaming of Mangala Aarti and major religious events. Big LED screens have been installed at various places in the city, so that devotees will be able to watch aarti and major events without reaching the temple amidst the crowd.
Janmashtami will be held under security cover
In view of the expected crowd of more than 75 lakh devotees, additional police forces have been deployed from outside districts in the district. Security agencies and district administration are on alert mode. Intensive checking of hotels, homestays and dharamshalas is being done. Preparations have been made to ensure smooth movement of devotees by coordinating with railway and roadways officials.
Beautification of major intersections of the city, repair of roads, drinking water and sanitation systems have also been improved. The police administration has prepared a special plan regarding crowd control and traffic arrangements.

The administration appealed to the devotees for cooperation
The district administration has appealed to the devotees arriving in Mathura-Vrindavan from India and abroad to follow the prescribed rules. The administration has said that devotees should cooperate in traffic diversion and parking arrangements and take special caution during the crowd. The administration is trying to provide better facilities along with safe and easy darshan to every devotee coming to Braj on Janmashtami.
