Disha Salian Case CBI Investigation: The case of the death of Disha Salian, former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is once again in the headlines. The Bombay High Court has now directed to hand over the investigation of this case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and register an FIR, this decision has come almost six years after Disha's death, due to which the case has once again come into discussion.
How did Disha Salian die?
Disha Salian was a celebrity manager and worked with many Bollywood actors. He died on the night of 8 June 2020 after falling from a high-rise building in Malad area of Mumbai. At that time the police considered it as accidental death (ADR) and started investigation. Just six days after Disha's death, on June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra home, which is why there are continuous discussions regarding both the cases.
What came to light in the initial investigation?
When Mumbai Police started investigation after Disha Salian's death, initially it was said that no evidence of any conspiracy or murder was found. The police investigated on the basis of the incident site, post-mortem report, forensic evidence, call records and statements of witnesses. Later, the SIT constituted by the Maharashtra government also said that no evidence of any clear conspiracy or murder was found in its investigation. As time passed, Disha's father Satish Salian started raising questions on the investigation. He claimed that his daughter's death was not investigated impartially.

High Court raised questions
After this, Disha's father filed a petition in the Bombay High Court demanding registration of FIP and CBI investigation. At the same time, during the recent hearing, the Bombay High Court raised many questions regarding the police investigation and medical report. The court asked that if Disha had fallen from such a height then why the nature of the injuries were not the same as is usually seen in such cases. The court also questioned that for so many years only the investigation into accidental death continued, but why the FIR was not registered.
CBI will investigate the case
At the same time, now on 2 September 2026, the Bombay High Court has given a big decision and has directed the CBI to register an FIR and investigate the matter. The court believes that an independent and comprehensive investigation of the case is necessary so that answers to the questions arising regarding the circumstances of the death can be found. At the same time, the agency can review old records, post-mortem report, forensic evidence, statements of witnesses and other documents.
