Miss Uganda Trivia Elle Muhoza’s gown on the Miss World 2026 stage is in the news because of its unique design. This is not an ordinary glamorous dress, rather the story of becoming a mother has been shown through it. The gown depicts seven layers of the body in different ways during a C-section, hence everyone’s eyes are fixed on it after seeing it.
This special gown has been designed by designer Keesha Abdallah. She got inspiration behind this from her own journey of becoming a mother. He understood the seven layers involved in a C-section and made them a part of the dress. From skin, fat, fascia and muscle to the uterus and the amniotic sac that protects the baby, each layer has its own meaning. This unique concept is making this gown different from other outfits.
What was the idea behind the design?
For designer Keesha Abdallah, it was not just a task to create a fashion dress, but a creative attempt to show the process that gives birth to life through clothes. She told that her experience of becoming a new mother also gave her an opportunity to think closely about this subject. While preparing the gown, special attention was paid to the seven layers of C-section. Choosing the right colors and layer of fabric was not easy, as the design had to look beautiful while still relating to the actual body structure.
First layer- skin
The first layer of the gown shows skin. Skin covers and protects our body from outside, hence it is kept as the first layer of the dress.
Second layer- fat
After this comes the layer of fat i.e. fat stored in the body. It helps in giving energy to the body and maintaining its strength. This energy and strength of the body has been shown through this layer in the gown.
Third Layer-Facia
Fascia is at number three. It is a kind of tissue, which supports different parts of the body and helps in connecting them together. This layer in the design indicates the connections and structure of the body.
Fourth layer- muscles
Muscles have been given a place in the fourth layer. It has been linked to strength, hard work and the physical stress on the body during childbirth.
Fifth layer- peritoneum
The fifth layer is the peritoneum. This is a protective membrane present inside the stomach. In gown it shows the inner protection and strength of the body.
Sixth Layer- Uterus
Uterus is at number six. This is the place where the baby develops in the womb. Therefore, this layer in the design has been linked to the beginning of life.
Seventh layer- amniotic sac
The seventh innermost layer shows the amniotic sac. The child remains safe inside this sac in the womb. In this way, the last layer of the gown shows the safe world where a new life develops before birth.
