Be it wedding season or everyday wear, women love wearing silver jewellery. In these, silver anklets add to the beauty of the feet. However, due to exposure to sweat, air and moisture, silver gradually starts blackening and loses its shine. In such a situation, women do not understand what measures should be taken to make it shine like new. If your anklets have lost their shine, then you do not need to take them to the goldsmith.
1. Baking Soda and Aluminum Foil
You can use baking soda and aluminum foil to clean silver anklets. For this, boil water in a vessel and put a piece of aluminum foil in it. Now put one spoon of baking soda and blackened anklet in it. Due to the chemical reaction, the dirt gets removed immediately. After 2-5 minutes, remove the anklet and clean it gently with a brush and wash it with water. The anklet will shine like new.
2. Miracle of Colgate toothpaste
Toothpaste not only cleans teeth but also works like magic in polishing silver jewellery. For this, apply a little plain white toothpaste on the anklet and rub it slowly with the help of an old toothbrush. Leave it like this for 5 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. Your anklets will shine.
3. Vinegar and Baking Soda
Vinegar easily removes even the most stubborn blackness. For this, mix half a cup of white vinegar and two spoons of baking soda in a bowl. Soak your silver anklets in this mixture for 2 to 3 hours. After the stipulated time, wash the anklet with cold water and wipe it with a cotton cloth. You will be surprised to see the glow.
4. Lemon and Salt
Lemon has natural bleaching properties which remove darkness. For this, cut a lemon in half, sprinkle plenty of salt on it and rub it slowly directly on the blackened anklet. After rubbing for 10 minutes, wash the anklet with warm water. Both the yellowness and blackness of the anklet will disappear.
5. Sour tamarind water
Tamarind has been used since ancient times to clean silver and copper utensils. To use it, prepare the pulp by soaking tamarind in some water. Now dip the anklet in this pulp or sour water for some time. After this, clean it with a brush and wash it. Tamarind acid instantly brings back the shine of silver.
