Namibia T20I Tri-Series: South Africa defeated Zimbabwe by 43 runs, registering their second win in the Namibia T20 Tri-Series. Batting first, the African team scored a strong score of 185 runs. In response, Zimbabwe’s team was limited to 142 runs. Young batsman Luan-dre Pretorius played an important role in the team’s victory by performing brilliantly with the bat.

The fourth match of the T20 tri-series being played in Namibia was played on Tuesday (1 September) at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first and scored a strong score of 185 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.

For South Africa, just 20-year-old young opener Luan-Dre Pretorius played a stormy inning of 94 runs in 51 balls, which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from Pretorius, Dewald Brevis, who came to bat at number three, also continued his excellent form. He scored 41 runs in 27 balls. The other opener Jordan Harman contributed 28 runs in 25 balls.

Bowling for Zimbabwe, Wesley Madhavere took 3 wickets, while Brad Evans took 2 wickets. Newman Nyamhuri also got 1 success.

Zimbabwe, which set out to chase the target of 186 runs, did not have a good start and the team kept losing wickets continuously. During this period no batsman could play a big innings. Captain Sikandar Raza certainly struggled and scored 45 runs in 33 balls, but he did not get enough support from the other end.

The team’s main batsman Brian Bennett was out after scoring only 14 runs and Ben Curran after scoring 4 runs. Newman Nyamahuri made some efforts in the lower order by scoring 27 runs in 25 balls, but by then the match was in South Africa’s control.

The entire Zimbabwe team was all out for 142 runs in 17.4 overs and South Africa won the match by 43 runs.

Captain Bjorn Fortuin took 4 wickets in South Africa’s bowling. Duane Jansen took 3 wickets, while Prenelon Subrayan and Nakba Peter got 1 wicket each.

With this victory, South Africa now has 4 points in its account and remains at the first position in the points table of this tri-series. Whereas Zimbabwe has suffered its second defeat in the tournament and is in third place with 2 points.
