New Delhi. Regarding the 8th Pay Commission, there is maximum discussion about the fitment factor among the central employees. At present an estimate of 1.92 times is being put forward. However, it is important to note that 1.92 is not yet an official fitment factor. The final decision will be taken only after the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission and the approval of the Central Government.
How to calculate 1.92 times?
To understand this estimate, the existing basic and possible dearness allowance has been made the basis. For example, if 60% DA is considered on a basic salary of ₹ 18,000, then DA will be ₹ 10,800. The amount including basic and DA will be ₹ 28,800. Adding 20% actual increase to this comes to approximately ₹34,560. That means the ratio of ₹18,000 to ₹34,560 is approximately 1.92 times.
How much will be built from Level-1 to Level-5?
If the same estimating factors are applied to the current starting basic, the picture would be something like this:
Level-1: ₹18,000 → ₹34,560
Level-2: ₹19,900 → ₹38,208
Level-3: ₹21,700 → ₹41,664
Level-4: ₹25,500 → ₹48,960
Level-5: ₹29,200 → ₹56,064
Accordingly, the difference between the current and estimated basic can be around ₹ 16,560 to ₹ 26,864.
The salary in hand will be different from this
It is important to understand here that the above calculation is only for basic pay. The actual monthly salary also includes DA, HRA, TA and other allowances and deductions. Therefore, after the implementation of 8th CPC, the actual in-hand salary of the employee will be different from this calculation. At present, 1.92 times should be considered only as an approximate basis. The clear figure of the actual salary of central employees will be revealed only after the final fitment factor and new pay matrix are decided.
