India will host the first Women's Champions Trophy
The ICC made a big announcement on Wednesday, September 2. India has been handed the title of host for the first season of the Women's Champions Trophy. All the matches in this tournament, which will be held between February 14 and 28, will be played in Mumbai and Vadodara. A total of six teams including India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka are participating in this tournament. The hosting rights were earlier given to Sri Lanka, but due to political interference in the Sri Lankan Cricket Board, the ICC withdrew the hosting rights from Sri Lanka and gave them to India.

Why out of Pakistan Women's Champions Trophy?
Why Pakistan team will not participate in the first season of ICC Women's Champions Trophy finals. The list of teams playing in any ICC tournament is decided on the basis of ranking. Only the top six teams in the ICC T20 rankings are eligible for the Women's Champions Trophy 2027. The deadline for this was July 6, 2026. Apart from the host team, the top five teams were eligible for entry. However, the Pakistan team was outside the top six teams till the deadline. Despite the announcement of the tournament, Pakistan remains outside the top six teams in the ICC T20 rankings. That is why Pakistan will not participate in this tournament. Along with Pakistan, Bangladesh also did not qualify for this tournament.
When and where will the Champions Trophy be played?
Women's Champions Trophy 2027 will be played in T20 format. The tournament will start next year in 2027 on February 14 and will continue till February 28. The matches of this tournament will be played at only two venues. For this ICC has selected Mumbai and Baroda. A total of six teams will compete for the title. The tournament will be held in a round-robin format, with all teams playing against each other once. Each team will play three matches in the league stage.
