Patna. There is going to be a big change regarding road connectivity in Bihar. The way is now becoming clear to start work on two important highway projects that will ease the travel from West Champaran to Patna and Uttar Pradesh. At present, the process of land acquisition is being completed rapidly before starting the construction.
Among these, NH-139W is included in the most important projects. Under this, about 171.29 km long four lane road will be built between Bettiah and Patna. Approximately Rs 8,660.70 crore will be spent on this project. After the construction of the road, traffic between Patna, Saran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran and West Champaran will be better. With this, the people of North Bihar are expected to get a lot of convenience in commuting to the capital Patna.
The second project is NH-727 AA, which will strengthen connectivity from Manuapul in Bettiah to Sewarhi region of Uttar Pradesh crossing the Gandak river. In this approximately 29.24 km long project, an 11.24 km long bridge is also proposed on the Gandak River. This entire project will cost approximately Rs 3,294.16 crore.
Acceleration in land acquisition
Land from a total of 16 villages is to be taken for the construction of both the roads. The administration has given different deadlines to the officials to complete the land acquisition process quickly. Instructions have been given to resolve the land owners who have objections as soon as possible.
After the construction of the highway, it is expected that along with ease of transportation in West Champaran and surrounding areas, business activities will also get a boost. This will further strengthen the road connectivity between Bihar and UP.
