Simple Energy's new bet in the family segment: Wave electric scooter launched for ₹ 1.09 lakh, equipped with 243 KM range and 70L storage

Automobile Desk: Simple Energy, which is gaining momentum in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, has launched its new electric scooter Simple Wave in the market keeping in mind the family needs. Offered at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹1.09 lakh, this scooter claims to cover a distance of up to 243 kilometers on a single full charge. On the basis of its strong build quality, attractive design and long range, the company is now preparing to strengthen its presence in the huge family scooter segment of the country.

In terms of design, the company has tried to give a different and unique look to this scooter. Simple Energy says that its outer look and body lines have been inspired by the swimming style of the dolphin. This is the reason why it looks quite smooth and friendly on the road. If you are planning to buy it, then you will not have to wait long for it. According to the company's plan, its delivery will start to the customers from September 25, 2026.

Keeping in mind the different needs and budget of the customers, Simple Wave is offered in a total of four battery variants—2.2 kWh, 2.7 kWh, 3.7 kWh and 5 kWh. From a technical point of view, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, which are considered safer, have been used in packs with 2.2 kWh and 2.7 kWh capacity. At the same time, the larger packs of 3.7 kWh and 5 kWh are based on Nickel Cobalt Aluminum (NCA) technology. To properly monitor the battery health and charging, it has been provided with Generation-3 Battery Management System. The company claims that through fast charger, this scooter gets charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 70 minutes.

The balance of range and performance is clearly visible in this scooter. The smallest 2.2 kWh battery variant offers a range of 110 km, while the 2.7 kWh pack offers a range of 132 km and the 3.7 kWh variant offers a range of 171 km. Its most premium 5 kWh battery pack can cover a distance of 243 km (IDC) on a single charge. All models are equipped with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) generating power of 8 bhp. This scooter can easily climb slopes of up to 20 degrees with two riders. Its pick-up is so fast that it accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. Depending on the variant, its top speed ranges from 75 kmph to 90 kmph.

The biggest requirement of a family scooter is luggage space, and the Simple Wave has set a new benchmark in this regard. It has a huge boot space of 70 liters, in which two big helmets and ration items can easily fit. Apart from this, phone charging port is also provided in the front pocket. The seat height of 775 mm, seat length of 920 mm and ground clearance of 175 mm make it extremely comfortable on Indian roads and for riders of all statures. For safety, disc brake at front, drum brake at rear and Combined Braking System (CBS) have been provided.

To make the ride quiet and vibration-free, it uses 'HushDrive' technology, which reduces motor noise by 15 percent with the help of rubber dampers and special O-ring chain. Apart from this, for safety, it has 'Drop Safe' feature, which immediately switches off the motor if the scooter falls. Features like hill-hold assist, reverse gear, crawl mode and limp home mode make it extremely practical.

A large 7-inch TFT touchscreen is available on the dashboard of the scooter, which supports Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call-music controls and direct WhatsApp message notifications. Modern features like geofencing, over-the-air (OTA) updates, live location tracking and 'incognito mode' for privacy make it a fully connected smart vehicle.
