Heartbreaking case of Lindsay Clancy and her three children has reached a shocking development.
A mistrial has been declared in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy.
The decision was reached after jurors were unable to reach a verdict for the third time on whether she was criminally responsible for killing her three children.
The woman was accused of killing her three children in their Massachusetts home in January 2023.
Her defense argued that postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder left her unable to understand or control her actions.
Judge William Sullivan addressed the jury after the deadlock, telling them they should be proud of themselves and thanking them for what he described as an “incredible commitment and dedication” to the case.
US President Donald Trump also weighed in while speaking to reporters at the White House.
Asked whether he had been following the trial, Trump described the case as a “horrible tragedy” and a “terrible situation.”
“I assume there’s going to be another trial,” Trump said. “She did a horrible, horrible thing. Can’t be worse.”
Trump also said Clancy would have to pay “a price.”
Prosecutors alleged that she fatally strangled the children before attempting to take her own life.
