Mythology related to Pushkar
According to mythological belief, once Lord Brahma threw a lotus flower from his hand to kill a demon named Vajranabha. It is believed that Lord Brahma decided to perform a yagya here and that is why this place became very sacred from the religious point of view.

When Savitri reached there, she cursed Lord Brahma that he would be worshiped only at limited places on earth. According to religious belief, for this reason, temples of Lord Brahma are rarely seen and the temple of Pushkar holds special significance.
