Pakistan lost to India by seven wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.
With the defeat, Pakistan remained at second spot in Group A with a win and a loss apiece from its two matches. India on the other hand, which had already qualified for the semifinals, sailed through to the next stage with a perfect record- three wins out of three.
Pakistan has one match to go and will next face Hong Kong in its final group stage fixture on September 7, and even if it loses against all odds, the Sana Mir-led side will progress to the semifinals.
Hong Kong has lost both of its matches and has a net run rate of -3.57, while Pakistan’s net run rate is -0.57. Even if the side loses by a massive margin, Pakistan will maintain position and finish second on the table.
