New Delhi. Big news related to housing for railway employees has come out. The Railway Board has approved changes in the design and facilities of multi-storey railway colonies to be built in urban areas. Under the new system, employees will get flats with more space and better facilities than before.
The area of the quarter will increase
In the new scheme, the area of Type-2 housing has been increased from 75 to 75-104 square meters. Type-3 quarters can now be built up to 85-114 square meters and Type-4 houses can be built up to 110-130 square meters. There is also a provision for additional attendant unit of 25 square meters in Type-4.
Facilities from lift to parking
In new multi-storey buildings, it will be necessary to install luggage lift along with normal lift, so that there is no problem in carrying heavy goods. Attention will also be given to better ventilation, larger rooms and balconies in the flats. Apart from this, facilities like garbage shaft, parking, park and sports ground will also be developed for modern waste management.
New houses will be built rapidly in cities
Due to shortage of land, priority is now being given to tall multi-storey buildings in urban areas. Work in this direction has started in Prayagraj and allotment has also been made in some new buildings. Railway Board has instructed all zones to implement the new system.
