Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and Kartik Aaryan have won hearts for their generous gestures towards veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, who is best known for playing Sai Baba in the 1977 film Shirdi Ke Sai Babaafter learning about his deteriorating health.
Sudhir was previously hospitalised in October 2025 following serious complications caused by sepsis.
The rising medical costs placed a significant financial burden on the family, prompting his wife, Suhas Dalvi, to reveal that Ranbir, Kartik, and Akshay offered financial assistance.
Speaking to Subhash K Jha for BollyspiceSuhas shared, “He is at home now. He still has to walk with the help of a walker, and his mind is disoriented. But he is happy to be home. So am I. The hospital was not only expensive, the aura of being in a hospital is also very intimidating for a patient.”
She added, “When the news spread that we were unable to meet hospital bills, many from the film industry came forward to help financially. I can’t immediately recall all the names. But Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar were among the first to help.”
Suhas expressed her disbelief at how people within and outside the industry came forward to help Sudhir amid his health battle.
“There were so many others from the film industry and outside. My husband is best known for playing Sai Baba. So many Sai bhakts came forward to help. Who says we’ve become heartless people? The love and generosity after my husband’s illness is overwhelming,” she remarked.
Sudhir spent an extended period in the ICU after being admitted to Lilavati Hospital in October last year, with the infection severely affecting his joints and restricting movement in his limbs.
Nearly INR 10 lakh had already been spent on his treatment, and doctors said the final bill could cross INR 15 lakh.
In a show of support, the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust donated INR 11 lakh towards Sudhir’s treatment in December 2025.
