Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Saturday respectfully recalled the contribution made by teachers in shaping students and building a progressive society. He said that the role of teachers is not limited to teaching only in the classroom.
In his message on the occasion of Teachers' Day, Chief Minister Vijay said that teachers play an important role in guiding the youth, inculcating good values in them and making them responsible citizens who can contribute to the development of the country.
In India, Teacher's Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned philosopher, scholar and educationist.
Extending greetings on the occasion, the Chief Minister recalled Dr. Radhakrishnan's contribution to the education sector and congratulated teachers across the state.
Chief Minister Vijay said that teachers work selflessly for the bright and prosperous future of the students. He deserves special respect because of the huge responsibility of giving right direction to the new generation.
Highlighting the broader role of teachers, he said that teaching is not limited to imparting knowledge only from books. Teachers make students aware and develop a sense of discipline, humanity, brotherhood and social responsibility in them.
He said that teachers inspire children to chase their dreams, identify and nurture their talents and provide necessary guidance to build a successful life.
According to the Chief Minister, the influence of teachers is not limited only to the personal development of students, but also contributes significantly to the progress of the society and the nation.
He said that the role of teachers in preparing responsible, efficient and socially conscious citizens is extremely important for building an inclusive and progressive society.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people to appreciate the invaluable work of teachers. He said that despite the challenges associated with the profession, teachers continue to educate and guide the students with full dedication.
He said that the dedication and guidance of teachers can shape the future of a student and help him achieve his full potential.
Chief Minister Vijay expressed hope that the selfless service and constant guidance of teachers will make the future of the students brighter and help them become responsible members of the society.
He also extended hearty greetings on Teacher's Day to all the teachers of Tamil Nadu who are continuously dedicated to the education, character building and overall development of the students.
