Addressing reporters on Saturday, Alipov said, “India has taken the decision to buy oil from Russia in its own interest. India is not buying Russian oil to help Russia; rather, they are buying this oil for their own needs and national development.” At the same time, he clarified, “Moscow is committed to meet India's energy needs. Russia is ready to supply any amount of oil as per New Delhi's requirement.” He called Western countries' sanctions targeting Russia's oil trade a 'pressure tactic'. It is good to say that the US Senate has passed a new bill to educate Russian oil customers. Due to which a country will impose 100 percent duty on it if it buys Russian oil. It is believed that India is going to be in trouble due to this action of America.
Western sanctions against Russia in 2022 changed the structure of global oil trade. Since then, India has been buying Russian oil at relatively low prices. As a result, it has been possible to control the cost of raw materials in the country's oil refineries. Supply is also uninterrupted. Despite the recent decline in benchmark crude prices in international markets, Russian oil is still commercially viable for Indian refineries. Because, in the last few years, they have developed a strong supply system and long-term commercial relationship with Russia.
