New Delhi: The incident of building collapse in Satya Niketan area of Delhi has alerted the administration. As soon as information about the accident was received, Union Home Minister Amit Shah canceled his Goa tour. Shah was to inaugurate the newly constructed BJP state office in Chimbel, Goa on Sunday. He talked to the Chief Minister, Delhi Police Commissioner and NDRF Chief about the situation in Delhi and got information about the rescue operation.

Expressing grief over the accident on social media platform X, Shah said that he has spoken to the concerned officials and taken stock of the situation at the spot. He told that the local administration and NDRF teams are together engaged in relief and rescue work. Necessary treatment is being provided to the injured. The Home Minister also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Shah had reached Goa on a three-day tour
Amit Shah reached Goa on Saturday evening on a three-day visit. During this time he had to preside over the 28th meeting of the Western Regional Council. On reaching Goa, he was welcomed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, state government ministers and BJP state president Damodar Naik.
40-50 people are expected to be inside
After the accident, relief and rescue teams immediately took charge on the spot. A police officer present at the spot told Hindustan Times that based on preliminary investigation, around 40 to 50 people were likely to be present inside the building at the time of the collapse. So far, information about three people being injured has come to light. According to sources associated with Delhi AIIMS, three patients have been admitted to the trauma center after the accident. The condition of all three is said to be serious.
Many agencies are running rescue operations
After the building collapsed, emergency teams reached the spot and started searching for people trapped under the debris. Also, efforts are being made to find out how many people have been affected in the accident. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed concern over the incident and said that the rescue teams are working at full speed. Teams of DDMA, NDRF, Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Police, MCD, CATS and Civil Defense are involved in the operation. The Chief Minister said that in view of security, the building adjacent to the accident has also been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
