Buldhana: The District Level Nehru Hockey Sports Tournament organized jointly by Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune, District Sports Officer Office and District Sports Council, Buldhana was conducted with enthusiasm. A total of 10 teams from the district participated in the competition held at Sahakar Vidya Mandir on Chikhali Road in the Under 15 Boys, Under 17 Boys and Under 17 Girls categories.

District Sports Officer Bhakti Ambre, Buldhana Urban Charitable Society President Komalji Zhanwar, Rajmata Jijau Government Medical College and Hospital Dr. Vijay Dhanawat, Buldhana District Hockey Association Secretary Prakash Khetre, Sahakar Vidya Mandir Head of Sports Syed Abid along with sports teachers of the participating teams, parents, players and umpires were present. On this occasion, the chief guest as well as the present sports teachers were felicitated. In the under 15 boys category, Sahakar Vidya Mandir, Buldhana team won the first position, while Lonar Central Public School, Lonar team secured the second position. Sahakar Vidya Mandir team won the title in the under-17 boys category as well. Lonar Central Public School team stood second, while Zilla Parishad High School, Rohana team stood third. Syed Abid, Pawar, Kunal and Kapil officiated as referees in the tournament. Coordinated by State Sports Guide Dr. Jeevan Mohod and Manoj Srivas proposed the vote of thanks. The Sahakar Vidya Mandir team proved its dominance in the competition by bagging the title in all three major categories.

Sahakar Vidya Mandir, Buldhana team was the winner in Under 17 girls category. The Zilla Parishad High School, Rohana team secured the second position. The winning and runner-up teams were felicitated with cups and medals. Individual awards were also given to the best performing players in each match.
