Apple’s long-rumoured entry into the foldable smartphone market could come with a price tag unlike any previous iPhone. A new leak suggests the company’s first foldable iPhone could cost around $2,300 in the USwhile the reported Indian price could reach an eye-watering ₹2.8 lakh.

7.8-Inch Display With Book-Style Design
The foldable iPhone is expected to use a book-style design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
Reports suggest it could feature a 7.8-inch internal display when unfolded and a 5.5-inch external display when closed. The larger screen is expected to offer a more tablet-like experience for multitasking, browsing, gaming and entertainment.
The inner display could use a 4:3 aspect ratio, giving the unfolded phone a wider workspace than a conventional smartphone.
Touch ID Could Replace Face ID

It could also feature Apple’s next-generation C2 modem and run iOS 27 with software optimisations designed specifically for the foldable form factor.

Two 48MP Cameras
Despite its expected ultra-premium positioning, the foldable may use a dual-camera setup rather than a triple-camera system.
The leaked configuration includes a 48MP main camera and 48MP ultra-wide camerawith no dedicated telephoto lens.
That omission could be another compromise made to save internal space in the thin foldable design.
