New Delhi. A case of brutal murder of a 25-year-old woman has come to light in Guwahati, Assam. The killer separated the woman's head from the torso and then wrapped it in a polythene and kept it in the refrigerator. The woman's husband is being considered accused of murder. He was absconding after the incident and the police was searching for him. However he was later arrested. The name of the deceased woman is Riya Talukdar and her husband's name is Ramanujan Goswami. Police have registered the case and started investigation. The forensic team also reached the spot and collected evidence.

According to the police, some people in Hatigaon area of Guwahati reported foul smell coming from a closed house. Police reached the spot and broke the lock and entered the house. The decapitated body of a woman was lying inside the house. There was blood spread all over the house. When the police searched the house, they found the woman's head wrapped in black polythene inside the fridge. According to neighbors, the deceased woman Riya lived in this house with her husband. She worked in a boutique located in the Fancy Bazaar area.

According to the information revealed in the initial investigation, the woman had a fight with her husband over some issue and he killed his wife. Looking at the dead body, the police are guessing that the incident took place about two days ago. The matter of the woman's fingers being cut is also coming to light. The police has sent the woman's body for post-mortem. Riya and Ramanujan got married about six months ago. The real motive behind the murder is not yet known. The police is interrogating the murdered husband.
