Cricket Updates: Ishan Kishan created a series of records with his batting in the final of Duleep Trophy 2026. The East Zone captain scored 270 runs in 334 balls against South Zone. His innings included 30 fours and 7 sixes. East Zone scored a huge score of 708 runs in the first innings.

Came on the field again after 250
Ishan was retired hurt at 250 runs, but later came back to bat again. Tripurana Vijay dismissed him in the 163rd over. On the last ball of the same over, Mukesh Kumar was also out without opening the account and East Zone's innings ended. Ishan has become the first captain to score 250 runs in the Duleep Trophy final. Before him, only Anshuman Gaikwad had scored more than 200 runs in the final as captain. Gaikwad had scored 216 runs for West Zone in 1987.
Ishan is the seventh batsman to score 200 or more runs in the Duleep Trophy final. The list also includes Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, Anshuman Gaikwad, Raman Lamba, Cheteshwar Pujara, Yusuf Pathan and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Earlier, the biggest innings for East Zone in the final was of Wriddhiman Saha. He scored 170 runs in 2012. Ishaan is now the first batsman of this team to score a double century in the final. Ishaan also made a new record among wicketkeeper batsmen. Dinesh Karthik had scored 183 runs in the 2010 final, which was the highest score by a wicketkeeper till date.

With 270 runs, Ishaan reached second place in the highest innings of the final. He left behind Cheteshwar Pujara's record of 256 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal's record of 265 runs. Raman Lamba is at the forefront of this list. He played an inning of 320 runs in the 1987 final. Ishan has now reached eighth position in the all-time list of highest individual scores in Duleep Trophy.
