Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch: Xiaomi has officially launched ‘Xiaomi 18 Fold’ as its new book-style foldable smartphone in China. Like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 launched last month, this new foldable phone has also been launched with a wider and more compact form factor.
This phone has a 5.38 inch cover screen and 7.58 inch main inner screen, and it is also equipped with Xiaomi’s new flagship ‘Xring O3’ chipset. This foldable device has a triple rear camera setup tuned by Leica and a powerful battery of 6,000mAh. The company has started pre-orders for it in China, and its sales will start from the end of this month.
Xiaomi 18 Fold: Price and color options
The starting price of the base variant (12GB + 256GB) of Xiaomi 18 Fold has been kept at 10,999 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 10,39,900). The prices of its other variants are as follows:
- 12GB + 512GB variant: 11,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 11,34,500)
- 16GB + 512GB variant: 12,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 12,29,000)
- 16GB + 1TB (LPDDR6 RAM) Top variant: 14,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 14,18,400)
Additionally, Xiaomi has also introduced a special ‘Ceramic Special Edition’ with 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage configuration, priced at 15,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 15,12,900). This phone will be available in Black, Nishino Red and Warm Gold White colors.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Launch: Specifications and features
Xiaomi 18 Fold has a 5.38 inch AMOLED cover display, which supports 120Hz refresh rate. At the same time, it has a 7.58 inch foldable AMOLED inner display, which comes with 120Hz refresh rate. Both screens support a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 protection has been provided on the cover display, while ultra-thin flexible glass has been used on the inner screen.
The phone is powered by Xiaomi’s 3nm octa-core ‘Xring O3’ AI flagship chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. This device works on HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 out of the box.
For photography lovers, this phone has been provided with a powerful camera setup supported by LEICA. There is a 200-megapixel primary main camera (f/1.7 aperture) with OIS support on its rear panel. Along with this, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS support and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with f/2.4 aperture have been provided. For selfies and video calling, 16-megapixel front cameras are provided on both the inside and outside of the phone.
For power backup, this foldable phone has a large 6,000mAh battery, which supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. For security, it has the option of side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock. Apart from this, this phone comes with IP58 and IP59 rating for dust and water protection.
In terms of connectivity, it has features like 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual nano-SIM and USB Type-C port. This phone is 5.02mm thin when unfolded, its thickness becomes 10.68mm when folded, and its weight is 219 grams.
