Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has launched an Open Application Programming Interface (API) facility for issuance and verification of Certificate of Origin (COO) through Trade Connect e-platform. This facility is now available for eligible exporters and their systems.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement issued on Monday that DGFT has launched the Open API facility for Certificate of Origin on the Trade Connect e-platform.
The ministry said that exporters can now apply for certificate of origin from their ERP i.e. accounting software. The API features preferred and non-preferred root certificates.
The ministry said the registration, certification and technical integration process is available on the Trade Connect e-platform.
The Open API facility enables exporters to directly integrate their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), accounting or other business software with DGFT’s COO system.
At present, exporters are required to enter details related to COO separately on the DGFT platform, even if the same information is already available in their business software.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that under this facility, exporters can obtain API credentials through the API management section of the COO portal.
