Prime Minister Modi will reach Vadodara on Tuesday at around 12 noon. He will dedicate to the nation three important sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), which has a length of 326 kilometers and has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 20,700 crore. These include Sanand (North)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-JNPT sections.
The direct connectivity to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) will speed up cargo movement, strengthen connectivity between industrial hubs and ports, reduce logistics costs and help decongest Mumbai's railway network.
With the commissioning of these sections, the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network will become fully operational along its entire length. This dedicated freight infrastructure will further strengthen the country's logistics ecosystem by improving multimodal connectivity, reducing transit time and facilitating smooth movement of goods across regions.
The Prime Minister will flag off goods train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT in Mumbai. Besides this, he will also flag off a new train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road, which will benefit the people of Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Alirajpur districts.
PM Modi will dedicate to the country the new Jobat-Tanda Road railway line built under the Chhota Udaipur-Dhar project. This new rail line will connect the remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur to the national rail network.
The Prime Minister will on Tuesday lay the foundation stone of three railway projects spanning 329 kilometers and costing more than Rs 9,700 crore. These include Vadodara-Ratlam 3rd and 4th lines, Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar Gauge Conversion and Vishwamitri-Dabhoi Doubling Project. These projects will increase passenger and freight capacity and strengthen connectivity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for three national highway projects costing about Rs 1,780 crore. Additionally, he will inaugurate six-lane flyovers at Kandari Chowkdi and Luwara Patiya to improve road safety and ease traffic congestion on the Vadodara-Surat section of NH-48.
