The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given a big relief to the candidates preparing for the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The board has opened the official online correction window to modify details in the CTET 2026 application forms. Candidates who had successfully submitted their online application by the due date can now correct the mistakes in their form by visiting the official portal.

According to the public notice released by CBSE, this online facility for correction in application will be active starting from 7th September till 10th September 2026. After this stipulated deadline, offline or online application for amendment of any candidate will not be considered. If there is any human error in the selection of name, educational qualification or examination center of any candidate, then they can immediately update their details by visiting the official portal.

CBSE has clarified that this correction facility is available to all the candidates who had registered for CTET 2026. In compliance with the recent instructions of the Supreme Court, along with the candidates who had applied in the special window re-opened between 25 August to 1 September 2026, candidates who had previously successfully filled the form between 11 May to 10 June 2026 can also make changes in their accepted information in this window.

Candidates are advised to check the preview of the application properly by entering their credentials as the same details will be recorded on the admit card, allotment of examination center and certificates issued in future which will be finally locked after this correction window.

As per board rules, changes are allowed only in specific and permitted fields during the correction window:

  • Personal Details: Candidate’s Name, Parents’ Name, Date of Birth and Gender (in case of spelling mistake).

  • Category and Reservation Details: Correct selection of General, OBC, SC, ST or Disabled (PwD) category (if change of category results in difference in fee, additional fee will have to be paid).

  • Paper Selection: Revision in selection of Paper-1 (Class 1 to 5), Paper-2 (Class 6 to 8) or both the papers.

  • Subject and Language: Medium of Language-1 and Language-2 and selection of Mathematics/Science or Social Science subject for Paper-2.

  • Academic Details: Year of passing, roll number, name of the board/university and percentage of marks.

  • Exam City Priority: Cities of preferred examination centers (subject to availability).

Candidates can edit their form without any mistake by following the step-by-step procedure given below:

  1. Visit the official website: First of all open the official website of CBSE CTET ctet.nic.in.

  2. Click on correction link: Go to ‘Candidate Activity’ section on the homepage and “Login: CTET SEP 2026 CORRECTION WINDOW” Click the link.

  3. Enter login details: Enter your application number, password and security pin shown on the screen and submit.

  4. Edit Application Form: After login, select ‘Correction in Application Form’ option and make necessary corrections in the form.

  5. Re-verify details: Double-check all the revised details once again to ensure that all spellings and numbers match with your original certificates.

  6. Final submit and print out: Make online payment of difference fee if applicable and final submit the form. Download the new ‘Confirmation Page’ and keep its printout safe for future reference.

CBSE in its official notice has stated in strong words that the correction window will automatically close after midnight of 10th September 2026. Any amendment request submitted thereafter through e-mail, post or in person will not be accepted.

There is a possibility of technical glitch on the website or heavy load on the server in the last days, hence candidates are advised to complete the correction work in their form well in time without waiting for the last date.
