ICC Fined Fatima Sana: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken major action against Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana. ICC has imposed a 10 percent match fine on Fatima Sana. Besides this, 1 demerit point has also been added to his account. This action was taken after the match between India and Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. In this match, Pakistani captain Fatima Sana had signaled sendoff by dismissing Indian opener Shefali Verma. In this case, ICC found Fatima Sana guilty and took action and sentenced her.
ICC gave the reason
ICC told that Fatima Sana (Fatima Sana) Has violated Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct in the match played against India in Dubai on Saturday (5 September). Fatima was found guilty of violating Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Staff. This article deals with using language, actions or gestures which are insulting or likely to provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman when dismissed.
Because of this, he has been fined 10 percent of the match fee. Apart from this, 1 demerit point has also been added to his account. This is Fatima Sana’s second crime within the last 2 years, due to which a total of 2 demerit points have been added to her account.
What is the whole matter?
This incident happened during the innings of the Indian team. The Indian team had set out to chase the easy target of 56 runs. For India, Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana started the innings. Shafali Verma made her stance clear by hitting a six on the first ball as soon as she entered the field. However, Shefali Verma took an easy catch in the hands of the bowler on Fatima Sana’s ball. After completing the catch, Fatima looked towards Shefali and pointed towards the pavilion. ICC has taken action against Fatima in this case only.
