100 members of Bochasannyasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sansthan (BAPS) visited the Eiffel Tower. But on the occasion of that visit, all the female workers of the Eiffel Tower were removed from duty! Such explosive allegations have been made. Since the whole matter came to light, the workers of the Eiffel Tower have taken part in massive protests. The world famous architecture has closed its doors.
It is known that a group of 100 people went to Paris on the occasion of the inauguration of a temple. They visited the Eiffel Tower last Saturday. However, before visiting the Eiffel Tower, they were informed by their organization that no female workers can be kept in the premises during the visit. As soon as this matter came to light, the workers of the Eiffel Tower protested. Their statement said, 'The workers have been ordered to leave just because they are women. Women are told to disappear completely. Some have been transferred from their locality. In some cases male workers have been replaced by women. It has even been said that the women workers should not even go around when the party is there.'
Eiffel Tower management agency SETE also accepted the explosive charge. According to them, these conditions are against the ideals of the organization and against equality between men and women. Yet the company accepted BAPS's 'terms'. The whole incident came to light on Monday. Then the Eiffel Tower was closed. The authorities held a meeting with the workers. The workers demanded that no woman should be treated like this in the future. Later, however, the authorities apologized to the workers. Because of this, the Eiffel Tower was closed for a long time on Monday.
After issuing the 'fatwa', however, Bochasannyasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha has apologized. The mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Gregory, has ordered an investigation into the whole incident. Several French political leaders have also attended. Minister Aurore Berge says women are not erased in France. Presidential candidate Marine Le Pen also said France would never accept women being 'removed'. All in all, controversy is growing in Paris.
