Indian beach kabaddi team player has been sanctioned by the International Testing Agency (ITA) for an anti-doping rule violation at the 2026 Asian Beach Games on Tuesday.
The ITA reports that a urine sample collected during an in-competition doping control on 27 April 2026 during the 6th Asian Beach Games in China has returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF)¹ for brinzolamide.
Brinzolamide is prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list as S5 Diuretics and Masking Agents. Brinzolamide is classified as a specified substance and is prohibited at all times (in- and out-of-competition).
He was the captain of the Indian men’s beach kabaddi team, which had played five matches in China and won a silver medal at these Games just behind Iran.
The athlete accepted the consequences of his ADRV under the OCA anti-doping rules, namely the finding of the ADRV and the disqualification of his individual results from the Games, which include India’s 2nd place in the Men’s Beach Kabaddi event.
The matter is considered resolved from the perspective of the OCA and will now be transferred to the International Kabaddi Federation for a determination of further consequences under the International Kabaddi Federation rules.
