Next-Generation Mahindra Scorpio-N Spied With Lifestyler-Inspired Design

Mahindra recently unveiled the all-new Scorpio Lifestyler pickup truck for the Indian and international markets during its annual event. Mahindra’s Pratap Bose had confirmed after the unveiling that future products from the Scorpio family would get a Lifestyler-inspired design. It looks like Mahindra has already started working on the same, and we recently came across a bunch of images where we can see a Scorpio N test mule with Lifestyler-inspired changes.

The video has been shared by Auto x jammu on their Instagram page. In the post, we see a bunch of Mahindra test vehicles somewhere in the mountains. One of them is the Mahindra Scorpio N test mule with heavy camouflage on it. The headlamps on the test mule have been replaced with basic round halogen units. The major attraction here, however, is the front grille.

The SUV gets a bigger grille, and it looks similar to the front grille we saw on the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. The lower portion of the front bumper gets squared patterns, just like the pickup truck. We also notice the split lower air dam with a faux skid plate at the bottom.

The test mule seen here comes with dummy headlamps, and that could mean that Mahindra is planning to redesign the headlamps too. We expect to see Lifestyler-inspired, sleeker headlamps with all-LED units, along with redesigned LED DRLs and turn indicators.

We also expect to see Scorpio N branding above the front grille, and we may also see a bunch of orange reflector elements at the front to add a muscular look to the vehicle. Coming to the side profile, the SUV looks more or less the same. We may see slightly revised cladding with orange trims included. Although not visible here in the pictures, we may also see minor revisions at the rear of the vehicle too. Mahindra might go for a revised tail light design inspired by the Lifestyler. While the SUV looks different from the outside, it needs to be seen whether Mahindra will limit the changes to the exterior or go ahead and change the cabin layout of the Scorpio N too.

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler gets a large portrait-oriented touchscreen, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a single-pane sunroof, ventilated seats, rear AC vents, an electronic parking brake, automatic hill hold, selectable terrain and drive modes, and Level 2 ADAS. Mahindra might include some of these features in the next-generation Scorpio N, and instead of a regular sunroof, the Scorpio N could get a panoramic sunroof.

While there is no confirmation about the launch date, we expect Mahindra to launch the updated Scorpio N sometime next year. We already know that Mahindra will be launching the Lifestyler in April, and the new Scorpio N might hit the market after that.

The engine and transmission options on the new Scorpio N are likely to remain the same. It would continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options. The 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine will also be offered with manual and automatic transmission options. 4×4 will be offered as an option with select diesel variants only.
