Pratika Rawal, who made her T20I debut for India in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2026, has been added to the national team’s squad for the Asia Cup 2026. The regular member of the ODI squad has replaced injured Jemimah Rodrigues.
Jemimah Rodrigues was injured during The Hundred in July-August and was ruled out of the Continental Cup and Asian Games 2026.
Pratika was named Jemimah’s replacement last month, and the BCCI official confirmed that the Delhi-based cricketer will travel for the Asian Games.
“Pratika will be travelling to Japan as Jemimah’s replacement. Her name has been submitted,” a BCCI source confirmed to IANS.
Pratika, who played her first T2OI against Thailand in Dubai, has been part of three matches and amassed 36 runs. She has been given the No.3 spot by the captain and coach. Rawal has competed against Thailand, Hong Kong and Pakistan, accumulating 22, 10 and 4 runs, respectively.
Meanwhile, Jemimah’s absence is a big setback for the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team as she is one of the most experienced players and her presence would have made a big difference.
