Due to tight security in the capital during the BRICS Summit, passengers may face problems in commuting on the roads as well as at some metro stations (Delhi Metro). Additional surveillance and restrictions are also likely to be imposed on entry and exit of metro stations due to security reasons. The main venue of the summit is Bharat Mandapam. The security arrangements at the Supreme Court and Mandi House metro station located nearby are likely to be most affected. The movement of passengers at these stations can be controlled and entry or exit can be limited for some time if needed.
In view of the security arrangements during the BRICS Summit, the Supreme Court Metro Station may be completely closed on Saturday and Sunday. However, no formal advisory has been issued yet in this regard. Depending on the final arrangement of the security agencies, a decision can be taken to keep the station closed or limit the movement of passengers. Apart from this, there is a possibility of more VIP movement around Mandi House, ITO, Indraprastha and Delhi Gate metro stations. Due to this, passenger movement at these stations may be affected. If needed due to security reasons, these stations can be completely closed for some time or some of their entry and exit points can be kept closed for passengers.

The effect of VIP movement during the BRICS Summit can also be seen at many other metro stations of the capital. Many stations including Lok Kalyan Marg, Dhaula Kuan, Aerocity, Janpath, Seva Tirtha, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, INA and Khan Market will remain under the ambit of security arrangements. During the movement of the VIP convoy, the movement of passengers at these stations may be affected for some time. For security reasons, entry and exit may be temporarily controlled or some gates may be kept closed. Passengers are likely to face more problems on Saturday and Sunday, because the main event of BRICS Summit is to be held on these two days.
